The Alexa Lane Dance Fitness Method Teacher Training utilizes Alexa's years of professional dance training in combination with her background in exercise science. The training emphasis is on functional fitness and thoroughly breaks down her dance based fitness and barre classes into several smaller segments. Students will be able to easily create a variety of class formats based on the focus of the class they are teaching. Proper breathing, alignment, safety, and appropriate modifications are emphasized when performing the exercises.
The curriculum offers eleven individual tracks with multiple opportunities to create unique classes. Students will learn to cue, breakdown, and modify all exercises while maintaining the flow of the class. The course covers classical dance technique based on the principles of ballet and jazz and the proper body mechanics to execute each exercise. The anatomy and purpose of each exercise will be analyzed so that students thoroughly understand the structure and function.
Students will learn to work with hand weights and resistance bands to strengthen and tone all major muscle groups. A variety of dynamic and fun choreography based on commercial dance styles will be taught.
