Alexa has a lifetime of experience in the Performing Arts, Fitness, and Wellness industries. As a professional dancer, singer, and actress, Alexa performed in a variety of musical theatre, television, and film productions in the United States and Europe. Her credits include: Sweet Charity (Tour), Singin’ in the Rain (Tour), Sugar Babies (Regional), My One and Only (Regional), The Runner Stumbles (NYC), The Matchmaker (NYC), Street Scene (Teatro Regio, Torino, Italy), and Days of Our Lives.
Alexa is a proud member of the theatrical unions Actors’ Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA. She holds a degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Exercise Science and multiple certifications in fitness and wellness including American College of Sports Medicine and Yoga Alliance. She trained in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, and Musical Theatre Arts at the Connecticut Ballet, New Haven, Steps on Broadway (NYC), and Broadway Dance Center (NYC), and acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Alexa's family has been in the dance industry for over fifty years.
The combination of Alexa’s artistic background as a professional dancer with her knowledge of the latest research in exercise science inspired the design of the dance, fitness, and yoga programs taught at Soma Samadhi Yoga & Dance.
Alexa’s clientele includes children, adults, young performers, celebrities, and special populations. Her approach as an instructor is to lead and inspire students to live passionately, work hard, and follow their dreams.
Alexa is the author of two well-received audio books on yoga, “Illumine” and “Yoga Breakthrough,” and has been featured as a leading expert on Fitness and Wellness both online and on television. She is currently working on “Child Evolve,” a documentary film about the benefits of yoga and mindfulness for children that she created, directed, and choreographed.
